Composition of Decorations
All Salon Glacé decorations are produced using readymade Sugarpaste. A small amount of the synthetic gum additive Carboxy Methyl Cellulose (C.M.C) is incorporated into the sugarpaste. This helps to make it more pliable; it also dries to a much harder finish. Note: 'Sugarbabies' mini Cake Decorations, Do not contain CMC.
All colours used by us are edible. They are sourced from reputable suppliers (list available on request).
WARNING! Please be aware that some colours may cause allergies in certain individuals.
WARNING!Salon Glacé decorations are not suitable for nut allergy sufferers as they are produced in kitchens where nuts and nut products are used.
All Salon Glacé decorations are exclusively handmade, because of this; colours and some freehand constituent parts may be subject to slight variations.
Ordering & Payments
Before placing an order, please ensure that all decorations are the appropriate size for the cake that you intend to bake/buy/order. For example the large oval decorations (160mm) will not suit a 6 "/15cm cake, but will sit beautifully on an 8"/20.5cm cake. Please allow enough space around the decorations for candles.

Returns
Salon Glacé decorations are classed as a food product and as such are non-returnable once they have left our kitchen. This does not affect your statutory rights.
Cancellations
Orders can be cancelled at any time before they leave our kitchen. We will issue a full refund.
This does not apply to orders over 10 items or to Mini Decoration orders over 50 pieces.
Damaged Goods
All our decorations are carefully packed to ensure that they reach you in perfect condition. In the event of any piece arriving in a damaged condition, please contact us a soon as possible so that we can arrange to issue a replacement. Occasionally a small part of the decoration eg a rose may become detached during transit. If it is not damaged, re-apply by moistening the area from which it has become detached with a SMALL AMOUNT of either; cool boiled water/clear alcohol/egg white or royal icing. Re-apply the detached piece and leave the decoration in a warm well ventilated room, on a flat surface until it has set completely.
WARNING! Young children should be supervised when eating cakes finished with Salon Glacé decorations, as they may contain small parts.
Delivery
Decorations will be dispatched by 1st Class Recorded Delivery, 7-10 working days from date of order. This is to allow sufficient time for the decorations to dry out.
Applying the decoration to your cake
Before applying the Salon Glacé decoration to your cake ensure that you are happy with the final positioning. You might want to add a numeral or personalise the cake with some piping. Is there room for candles?
Move the pieces around on the cake until you are happy with the final look. When you are, lift each piece slightly and either moisten the decoration or its location on the cake with a smudge of cool boiled water or clear alcohol (for ice cakes) or a couple of dots of royal icing (for chocolate covered cakes). Gently re-position the decoration. Do not over moisten as the decoration may slip out of place and could cause any colours to streak over the cake surface. It will also make it easier to remove the larger decorations before cutting the cake later.
All Salon Glacé decorations are completely edible; a few are finished with fabric ribbon, which is not edible. We recommend that you remove the thicker decorations before cutting the cake. They can be given to the recipient of the cake and kept as a memento.
Remove by sliding a knife under the decoration and gently prising off.
WARNING!Some Salon Glacé decorations are finished with fabric ribbon. Do not place candles close to the ribbon.
Storage
Salon Glacé decorations have a long shelf life and can be ordered well in advance. Always store the decorations flat, covered and in a cool well ventilated dry place, away from light and strong smelling foods (a cardboard box would be ideal). Any moisture in the air will cause the decoration to soften. Do not refrigerate, do not place anything on top of the decoration.
