About Us
Salon Glacé is a small business based in North London. It is run by mother and daughter team Antoinette and Lucy Satchell.
After time off having her children, Antoinette decided to return to college to train as a chef. She enjoyed it so much that she continued to enrol for a further five years gaining an impressive number of qualifications. It was while training for her City & Guilds in Patisserie that Antoinette revealed a hidden talent for working with sugar.........the seed's of an idea were sown!
Antoinette went on to work in a variety of jobs within the Hospitality Industry, from restaurant kitchen's and front of house to outside catering. This in particular was to provide a useful insight to the twilight world of cake decorators and in 2007 Salon Glacé was born.
Salon Glacé is the culmination of many years of research, thoughts and scribblings (and more than just a few procrastinating). The intention was always to create something special that would stand out amongst other readily available cake decorations. Eyecatching designs that would offer a new and more exciting choice, in a range of instantly recognisable styles and opulent colours.
The Gorgeous photography on this site is the work of Antoinette's daughter, Lucy Satchell. Lucy is currently studying for the final year of her BA in Photography. Lucy recently gained her Foundation Diploma in Art & Design. Her design skills have proved invaluable in the creation of the Salon Glacé brand.
